Siwaco – W&TS agency
Since 1 May 2009, W&TS has been the exclusive representative of the German quality foundry Siwaco GmbH, based in Netphen/Deuz (Germany) for the dredging and mining industries. Siwaco is part of the Irle Group and a highly reliable partner with a good price and quality ratio. Moreover, their delivery times are relatively short and reliable. The casting capacity is 40 tons gross, which means that a piece of 30 tons net presents no problem at all. W&TS’s representation comprises advice and sales of wear resistant cast components that are made of white cast iron types.
Moreover, W&TS and Siwaco have been further developing an existing material for a long time together. It is marketed under the name: SIWEAR-BN.
SIWEAR BN is at least as strong as the GS47VA and GS32NiCrMo14.4.2 steel castings, but it maintains -at higher hardnesses- still considerable elasticity, which is a big advantage for some applications. This optimized compromise between wear resistance and toughness makes SIWEAR-BN a highly suitable material for e.g. pump housings, impellers/rotors and other pump parts and is therefore a very interesting alternative, also in terms of price, quality and delivery. Outside of hand form casting, Siwaco has a special department where wear resistant tube components also can be produced by means of spin-, or centrifugal casting. This method improves the compaction of the material. Using this method, tubes with a length up to 3 metres can be produced.
By means of this process, the structure of the material is very fine-grained and therefore, the abrasion resistance is also significantly higher than that of similar alloys that are cast in furan foundry sand, which of course has a positive effect on service life.
